It’s almost the 4th of July! I can’t believe how fast this year has gone by. So many new restaurants have opened, and all kinds of new and fun equipment has been released! What are your plans for July 4th?
I’m going to celebrate Americaon its special day in true fashion by deep frying as much as I can. I’m going to use the Waring Commercial Countertop Deep Fryer to make funnel cake, onion rings, french fries and fried chicken! I’m also going to try the new trend of deep fried Kool-Aid. Ever had that? Our friends from the San Diego State Fair introduced it just a few weeks back and the great feedback they received has traveled like wildfire. Apparently, deep fried Kool-Aid is a must try so I’m excited to make it for Independence Day. After all, cherry Kool-Aid IS red… Check out the recipe below!
This electric countertop deep fryer holds up to 8.5 lbs. It comes with two side by side wire baskets that can hold up to 3 lbs of food each. This fryer also comes with a 30 min timer so you are sure to not burn anything (wouldn’t want to taint all that oil with a burned taste). Deep Fried Kool-Aid Recipe
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 a cup of white sugar
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 4 Tablespoons Kool-Aid
- 1 Tablespoon of baking powder
- 2 Tablespoons of melted, unsalted butter
- 1/2 a cup of milk
- 1 beaten egg
Mix all ingredients together and drop in rounded Tbs size into fryer. Fry until desired crispiness. If desired, the deep fried kool aid can be rolled in a mixture of powdered sugar and cherry kool aid after it is fried. Use about 1/8 cup of kool aid to 1/2 cup of powdered sugar.
